Roskilde Update (4) - And finally….

When I finally came round at 11.30 this morning, I discovered myself in an 85-degree tent, fully clothed in socks, jeans, t-shirt, hoodie and scarf… and still wrapped up in my sleeping bag. On this form I’m going to enter a Finnish sauna-sitting contest ¬– and win.
Roskilde Update (3) - Lolling in the lap of luxury

I made friends with a hangover yesterday. Or it made friends with me. Every concert I saw, every hair-of-the-dog beer I drank, there it was. This hangover hung out, a dedicate follower. In fact, it lasted until after the Hellacopters, who closed my opening day at Roskilde with a blinding show undermined only by the muddy sound in the Arena stage.

Upon failing to successfully fold a full-sized mattress into my rucksack, I packed myself off down to ÖoB and Apoteket to pick up some proper camping gear.

The closer it gets, the more I fear this could all be a big, big mistake. It’s been 16 years since I camped at a festival and I’ve started to get flashbacks as a reminder why. Three in a two-person tent, the wet clothes, the mud, canned spam for breakfast… and the smell – that festival smell.
