ROSENBORG CASTLE AND CASTLE GARDENS
Tucked away in the beautiful King’s Garden in the middle of Copenhagen, this red-brick Renaissance castle with its elaborately decorated rooms is a must. The castle, built by Danish king Christian IV in the 17th century, was used as a royal summer residence up until the 19th century when it was converted to a museum. Rosenberg houses the well-guarded crown jewels; its rooms provide visitors with a view into royal life and the history of the Danish monarchy. The gardens are a popular retreat in the centre of Copenhagen.

Its cavernous basement holds not only canons and storage bins for food and arms, but also catacombs and a statue of the Danish hero Holger Danske. A flashlight will aid in exploring cryptic twists and turns underground and allow visitors to easily read the signs. An unforgettable experience.
